Ofu Cairns

Ofu started dancing at Ballet Arts in North Carolina when he was 8 years old, taking classes in the styles of tap, contemporary, jazz, clogging, ballet, and lyrical. Early on, Ofu showed a passion and dedication to the art and started assisting faculty members on top of his own training. He eventually became a student-teacher when he was 15 years old and taught weekly classes there until graduating from high school.

Ofu then went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College just outside of Philadelphia. In college, Ofu gained a greater conceptual understanding for how people move and how to take care of your body by taking classes in human anatomy and physiology as well as shadowing in varying physical therapy clinics. In this time, Ofu also worked as a Specialty Choreographer for his home studio, choreographing competition solos and mentoring soloists throughout the year.

Since graduating college, Ofu has continued to grow his conceptual understanding of the human body by doing research focused on understanding how muscles work and how organisms move. He also continues to take dance classes to further refine his technique and knowledge of dance. Ofu is excited to start this new chapter of his dance career and share his knowledge and love for dance with the kids of Just Dance!.
